Who this is for
Running a business or leading a team brings a kind of pressure that can be difficult to understand unless you have carried it yourself. You are responsible for making decisions, solving problems, leading people, managing competing priorities, and still trying to have a healthy life outside of work. Over time, stress, habits, difficult relationships, or simply being too close to everything can make it harder to see clearly and lead as effectively as you are capable of leading.
What this coaching is
Business Leadership Coaching creates a confidential place to step outside of the day-to-day pressure, gain perspective, and work through both the professional and personal challenges that affect how you lead. We may work on decision-making, priorities, communication, stress, difficult conversations, recurring patterns, relationships within the team, or areas of your own life that are affecting the way you show up at work.
When helpful, our work can also include conversations with members of your team to better understand their experience, identify relational or communication challenges, and find practical ways to improve how you work together.
This is not generic business consulting, and it is not simply life coaching with a business title. I bring more than 30 years of experience solving complex technology and systems problems, together with my work as a professional coach and a lifelong exposure to psychology as the son of a clinical psychologist. That combination lets me look at the whole picture: the leader, the people, the relationships, the patterns, and the practical realities of running a business.
What we work toward
- Greater clarity and perspective when facing difficult decisions, competing priorities, or situations that are hard to see clearly from inside the business.
- More effective communication, so your intentions, expectations, concerns, and vision are better understood by the people around you.
- Better understanding of your people, including their motivations, strengths, frustrations, communication styles, and what may be happening beneath the surface.
- Healthier working relationships, by identifying recurring patterns, addressing sources of friction, and handling difficult conversations and conflict more productively.
- Greater self-awareness as a leader, including how stress, habits, emotions, and your own communication style affect your decisions and your people.
- More intentional use of your time and attention, by identifying patterns that drain energy or keep you focused on things that are not producing meaningful results.
- A stronger, more rewarding work environment, where people understand what matters, how they contribute, and why their work is valuable.
- Practical change, not just good conversation, by turning insight into specific decisions, conversations, habits, and next steps.
